THE MARATHON – 26 miles 385 yards, a UKA accredited course, along Guernsey's beautiful roads and lanes, with 20 miles of stunning sea views. There will Trophies and a cash prize fund for the first (£500), second (£250) and third placed (£125) male and female runners. There will be Trophies for the first Guernsey runner, the first Channel Island runner and for the first male and female runners over 40, 50, 60 and 70.
As in 2017, there will be an additional prize of £500 for the runner who beats the all comers record for the fastest marathon ever run in Guernsey. This record had been held by Tony Simmons, who in 1986, ran 2:22:06. It was 27 years later in 2013 that Freddie Sittuk from Kenya beat that time in the Guernsey Waterfront Marathon in 2:18:11.
There won’t be many runners who could keep up with Freddie, but the Marathon is open to all runners, of all abilities, the committed Club runners, the serious and fun runners, the first timers and those who want to take part in fancy dress. For the 2018 event we will be presenting a prize to the first male and female runners who will be running their virgin marathon. Whatever sort of runner you are, we know that you will be running your personal best for scenic marathons.

2017 Ladies winner - Diana Wilcox from Buda, Texas - 3:20:10
